It’s official as the Pittsburgh Penguins successfully defended their Title and became the first team to repeat as back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions this past Sunday evening!  Pittsburgh Penguins fans were in attendance in a local Pittsburgh Sports Bar, Durkin’s Tavern in downtown, CHICAGO, Ill. in anticipation of seeing the Penguins repeat as Champions!  After seeing the Pens snap out of a two-game losing streak which saw the Series tied 2-2 a piece in NASHVILLE Tenn. after the Pens won their first two games of the Series at Home, doubt was settling in.  The Penguins would go onto win Game 5 at Home with only one victory to go.   Thanks to a Goal late in the Third Period in Game 6 at 1:35 remaining by Patrick Hornqvist of the Penguins, an empty netter would be added by Carl Hagelin.  Sidney Crosby would go onto to get the Conn Smythe Trophy as the NHL Playoffs MVP, while also surpassing his mentor, Mario Lemieux with his third Stanley Cup Championship and would also join, “Super Mario,” as back-to-back Playoffs MVP.  Now the question by a lot of media members and NHL analysts, can the Penguins become the first team to three-peat since the NY Islanders did it in 1980-1983?
